This month’s blog will devote some time to the comfort of God’s presence in our lives. Let us start with some scripture, because there are many places in scripture that can inform us of God’s presence with us. Here are some Examples:
“I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
“Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
Each of these texts can bring comfort, because they inform the reader/ listener of God’s presence in their lives. It can be easy to forget that God is present with us always, because life is filled with many moments of uncertainty. Life can lift us up and throw us back down in the same day, and sometimes it can seem that life is out of control.
Yet, it is good to know that when things seem to out of control God is with us always. It is important to know that Jesus loves you so much that he is willing to walk with you during all times of life. This means there is nothing that will stop Jesus from being part of our lives, unless we tell him to go away. Yet, even if we tell Jesus to go away, there is always a possibility for a second chance, which is some good news.
